پنجن حواسن مان ھڪ. سمجيو وڃي ٿو ته سواد جا بنيادي پنج ذائقا ٿين ٿا: مٺو، چھرو، کٽو، ڪڙو ۽ اُمامي (umami، گوشت جھڙو تيز سواد) جڏھن ته سنگهڻ جي حس رستي ڪيترن مختلف قسمن جي ذائقن ۾ فرق محسوس ڪري سگهجي ٿو. ذائقي جو سواد ٽيسٽ بڊس (taste buds) سمجهن ۽ ٻڌائين ٿيون جن مان گهڻيون ڄڀ تي موجود ٿين ٿيون.
