ٿاءِ.روائڊ ـ گلئنڊ
اينڊوڪرائين غدودن (endocrine glands) جو ھڪ مکيو غدود جنھن جو ڪم جسم جي اندرين ڪمن کي روان رکڻ ٿئي ٿو. ٿائروائڊ غدود سامھون ڳچي ۾ گلي (larynx/voice-box) جي بلڪل ھيٺان ٿئي ٿو. ان جا ٻه لوب/ پلڙا ٿين ٿا جن مان ھر ھڪ نڙگهٽ (trachea/windpipe) جي ھر پاسي کان ٽشوءَ رستي ڳنڍيل ٿئي ٿو جنھن کي اِسٿمس (isthmus) سڏجي ٿو. ٿائروائڊ جا ٽشو فوليڪيولر سيلن جا جڙيل ٿين ٿا جيڪي آيوڊين وارو ھارمون ٿائراڪسين (thyroxine/T4) ۽ ٽراءِ آيوڊوٿائرونانين (triiodothyronine/T3) ۽ پيرافولائيڪيولر سيل (parafollicular cells/ C cells) ڪالسيٽونن (calcitonin) خارج ڪن ٿا. ٽي فور (T4) ۽ ٽي ٿري (T3) جسم جي ميٽابولزم کي ڪنٽرول ڪرڻ لاءِ ضروري ٿين ٿا. ڪالسيٽونن جسم ۾ ڪيلشم جو توازن قائم رکڻ ۾ مدد ڪري ٿو (وڌيڪ ڏسو، thyroid gland, disorders of; thyroid hormones).
