نِقِرس، پير جي آڱوٺي جو سور. عام طور تي پيدا ٿيندڙ ھڪ ميٽابولي (metabolic) نقص جنھن سبب آرٿرائيٽس جا حملا ٿي سگهن ٿا خاص طور تي ڪنھن اڪيلي سنڌ تي (گهڻو عام پير جي آڱوٺي جي تري). ھن بيماريءَ جي پيدا ٿيڻ جو ڪارڻ، رت ۾ يورڪ تيزاب جي مٿاھين سطح ھجڻ سبب ان جو سنڌ جي ٽشوئن (ماس) ۾ گڏ ٿيڻ ٿئي ٿو (ڏسو، hyperuricaemia). متاثر سنڌ ڳاڙھو، سڄيل ۽ ڏکڻو ٿي پوي ٿو. تڪليف ڪجهه وقت ھلي وري اٿلي پوي ٿي. ورلي، ان سان گڏ بخار به ٿي پوي ٿو. گائوٽ سان گڏ بڪيءَ ۾ پٿريون به ٿي سگهن ٿيون (ڏسو، calculus, urinary tract) ۽ عورتن جي ڀيٽ ۾ مرد 10ھوڻ تي وڌيڪ متاثر ٿين ٿا. مرد بالغ ٿيڻ کانپوءِ ان ۾ ڪنھن وقت به مبتلا ٿي سگهن ٿا ته عورتون عام طور تي سنڍجڻ (menopause) کانپوءِ متاثر ٿين ٿيون. بيماري خاندانن ۾ ھلندي رھي ٿي.
