ماھواري اچڻ دوران يا ان کان ٿورو اڳ ۾ سور يا اھنج پيدا ٿيڻ. ننڍين نيٽين ۽ نوجوان نارين ۾ پرائمري ڊسمينور.ويا عام ٿئي ٿي. جنھن جي عام طور تي شروعات ماھواريءَ (menstruation) اچڻ جي 2 ـ 3 سالن کانپوءِ ٿئي ٿي ۽ گهڻي ڀاڱي 25 سالن جي عمر کانپوءِ گهٽجي وڃي ٿي. ان جي اصل ڪارڻ جي ڄاڻ ڪونھي. جنھن جو ھڪ امڪان پروسٽاگلينڊينس (prostaglandins) جي حد کان وڌيڪ پيداوار يا ان لاءِ اجائي حساسيت ھجڻ ٿي سگهي ٿي، ھارمون جھڙي ان مادي جو ڪم ڳڀيرڻ ۾ ڪوئن جھڙو تحرڪ پيدا پيدا ڪرڻ ٿئي ٿو. سيڪنڊري ڊسمينورويا (secondary dysmenorrhoea) جو ڪارڻ ڪو نقص ھجي ٿو جھڙوڪ: پيلوڪ انفليمينٽري ڊزيز (pelvic imflammatory disease) يا اينڊوميٽرياسس (endometriosis) جيڪو عام طور تي سامايل زندگيءَ ۾ شروع ٿئي ٿو.
