ساه کڻڻ، ھڪ اھڙو عمل ٿئي ٿو جنھن ھيٺ ھوا ڦڦڙن ۾ داخل ۽ خارج ٿي رت کي آڪسيجن کڻڻ ۽ ڪاربان ڊاءِ آڪسائيڊ خارج ڪرڻ ڏئي ٿي. ساه کڻڻ تي بِرين اسٽيم (brainstem) ۾ موجود ساه مرڪز ضابطو رکي ٿو. جڏھن ساه (ھوا) کڻجي ٿو ته پيٽ ڇھه (diaphragm) ڪوئجي تراکڙو ٿي وڃي ٿو. انٽرڪوسٽل/ پاسرين جي وچواريون مشڪون (intercostal muscles) ڀيڪوڙجي پاسرين جي ڀانڊي کي مٿتي ۽ اڳتي ڪري ڇڏين ٿيون. نتيجي ۾ ڇاتيءَ جي ڀانڊي ۾ پيدا ٿيندڙ واڌ، ڦڦڙن کي ڦوڪائي ۽ گهٽيل دٻاءُ ھوا کي ڦڦڙن ۾ ڊوھي ٿو. جڏھن ساه (ھوا) ڪڍجي ٿو ته ڇاتيءَ جون مشڪون ۽ پيٽ ڇھه ڍلو ٿي وڃي ٿو جنھن سبب پاسرين جو ڀانڊو سسي ڦڦڙن کي ڀيڪوڙي ھوا کي ٻاھر ڪڍي ڇڏي ٿو.
