نابينائپ، ڏسي نه سگهڻ. نابينائپ ۽ ڪجهه ڏسي سگهڻ جون وصفون ڪجهه مختلف ٿي سگهن ٿيون. انگلئنڊ ۾ نابينائپ سڏجي ٿو ان درست ويوئل اڪيوٽي (visual acuity) کي جيڪا بھتر اک جي 3/60 يا ان کان گهٽ ھجي ٿي يا بھتر اک ۾ ان جي ويوئل فيلڊ (visual field) 20 کان وڌيڪ نٿي ھجي. نابينائپ جو ڪارڻ دوڏي (eyeball)، ڏسڻيءَ تنت (optic nerve) يا ان تنتي گس کي جيڪو اک کي دماغ سان ملائي ٿو يا خود دماغ کي ڪنھن ضرب پھچڻ يا بيماريءَ يا بگاڙ سبب پيدا ٿئي ٿو. قرنيا جي ڌنڌلائپ شوگرينس سنڊروم (Sjögren’s syndrome)، وٽامن اَي جي کوٽ، ڪيميائي نقص، روڳن ۽ ضرب سبب پيدا ٿي سگهي ٿي. قرنيا جي السرن سبب نابينائپ قرنيا جي رھڙجڻ (scarring) سبب پيدا ٿئي ٿي. يوويئائيٽس (uveitis) ۽ موتيو پاڻي (cataracts) به نابينائپ جا ٻيا عام سبب ٿين ٿا. ذيابيطس ميلائيٽس، ھائپرٽينشن يا ڪنھن ضرب سبب دوڏي جي ڀانڊي ۾ رتھير ٿيڻ سبب ديد ھلي وڃي ٿي. بلور (lens) جي اڳيان (hyphaema) يا بلور جي پٺيان وٽريئس vitreous haemorrhage)) پاڻيٺ ۾ ٿيندڙ رتھير سبب پڻ نظر ھلي وڃي ٿي. اھڙيون ٻيون حالتون جن سبب نابينائپ پيدا ٿي سگهي ٿي انھن ۾ ڪارو پاڻي (glaucoma)، ريٽائينل آرٽري آڪلوشن (retinal artery occlusion) يا ريٽائينل وين آڪلوشن (retinal vein occlusion)، عمر سبب مئڪيولر ڊيجنريشن (macular degeneration)، ريٽينوپيٿي (retinopathy)، ريٽائينل ڊِچيٽمينٽ (retinal detachment)، ڳوڙھيون جھڙوڪ: ريٽينوبلاسٽوما (retinoblastoma) ۽ اک جو ميلگننٽ ميلانوما (malignant melanoma) ۽ ريٽائينل ھيمريج (retinal haemorrhage) ٿي سگهن ٿا.
