رت جي پوڻائيءَ جو گهڻو عام قسم فولاد جي کوٽ سبب پيدا ٿئي ٿو جيڪو ھيموگلوبن (haemoglobin) جو ھڪ اھم وکر ٿئي ٿو. ان جو مکيو ڪارڻ گهڻيءَ يا لاڳيتي ٿيندڙ رتھير (bleeding) سبب ٻار ڄڻيندڙ عورتن کي ماھواريءَ ڪري ٿئي ٿي. ان جا ٻيا ڪارڻ ھاضمي جي ناليءَ مان ڪن نقصن جھڙوڪ: گئسٽرائيٽس (gastritis)، پيپٽڪ السر (peptic ulcer)، معدي جي ڪينسر (stomach cancer)، انفليميٽري بائول ڊزيز (inflammatory bowel disease)، بواسير(haemorrhoids) ۽ آنڊن جون ڳوڙھيون (ڏسو، colonon, cancer of) ٿي سگهن ٿيون. ايسپِرن۽ نان اسٽيروائڊل اينٽي انفليمينٽري (nonsteroidal antiinflammatory) دوائون، گئسٽروانٽيسٽائينل (gastrointestinal) رتھير ڪرائي سگهن ٿيون. ڪن ملڪن ۾ ھڪ ورمن (hookworm) جي بيماري، رت جي پوڻائيءَ جو ھڪ اھم ڪارڻ ٿئي ٿو. ورلي، پيشاب نليءَ ۾ ڪن نقصن سبب رتھير ٿي سگهي ٿي (جھڙوڪ: بڪيءَ يا مثاني جون ڳوڙھيون).
