ڪنھن فرد جي موڊ بيان ڪرڻ لاءِ استعمال ٿيندڙ اصطلاح جنھن جون ٻه انتھائي حدون، ڦونڊ (elation) ۽ اداسائي (depression) ٿين ٿيون. شديد موڊ يا تبديلين جو شڪار فرد افيڪٽِو ڊِسئارڊر (affective disorder) ۾ مبتلا ٿئي ٿو. مٿاڇرو يا گهٽ اثر، شائزوفرينا يا نامياتي بِرين سنڊروم (brain syndrome) جي نشاني ٿي سگهي ٿي.
