سنسڪرت ڊرامو يوناني ڊرامي کان گھڻو مختلک آھن. سنسڪرت ڊرامي جي ترتيب مختلف آھي، سنسڪرتي ڊرامي ۾ ھيڪڙايون (Unities) نظر انداز ھونديون اھن، سنسڪرتي ڊرامي ۾ خوشي ۽ غم جا موضوع ھڪ ئي وقت موجود ھوندا اھن، ڪورس، جيڪو يوناني ڊرامي جو روح اھي، اھو سنسڪرتي ڊرامي ۾ موجود نھ ھوندو اھي.سنسڪرتي ڊرامي ۾ ھنن ڳالھين جو ھجڻ ضروري سمجھيو ويندو ھو: قصو اھم ۽ مشھور ھجي. اکاڻي ديو مالائي يا تاريخي، ھجي، پوءِ ڀلي ان ۾ فرضي واقعا بھ شامل ھجن. ڊرامي جو سورمو راجا يا ديوتا ھجڻ گھرجي. ڊرامي جو موضوع فقط ھڪ ھجڻ گھرجي يعني عشق، جرئت ھمٿ يا جھيڙو وغيره وغيره. واقعات ۽ عمل ھڪ ٻئي مان ڦٽي نڪرن. اکاڻي جو زمانو وڌ ۾ وڌ ھڪ ڏينھن ۾ ختم ٿئي يا چند ڏينھن ۾، يا وڌ ۾ وڌ ھڪ سال ۾ ختم ٿئي. ڊرامي جي ٻولي پاڪ ۽ مقدس ھجڻ گھرجي. مشهور ڊراما: ڪاليداس جا ڊراما ’شڪنتلا‘ ۽ ’نل دمينتي‘ سنسڪرت ۾ لکيا ويا.
