سنڌ جي تاريخ ۾ دودي چنيسر جو رزميه قصو وڏي اهميت رکي ٿو. جڏهن ڀونگر سومري جو انتقال ٿيو تڏهن جانشين مقرر ڪرڻ جو مسئلو پيدا ٿيو. سندس ٻه پٽ دودو ۽ چنيسر موجود هئا. دودو ننڍو هو ، پر ڏاڏي پوٽي ماءُ مان ڄائو هو، جڏهن ته چنيسر وڏو هو، پر سندس ماءُ ڌارين هئي. ال ته چڱن مڙسن چنيسر جي حق ۾فيصلو ڏنو، پر پوءِ اميرن وزيرن چنيسر کي نظر انداز ڪري دودي کي ملڪ جو بادشاهه چونڊيو. چنيسر پنهنجي بيعزتي ڏسندي دهليءَ جي سلطان علاوالدين خلجي (وفات 1316ع) وٽ پهتو ۽ کيس پنهنجي ڀيڻ ٻاگهيءَ جي سڱ جي آڇ ڏئي پنهنجي حق ۾ ڪيائين ۽ ائين هڪ ڌارئين سلطان 1298ع ۾سنڌ تي حملو ڪيو. هي تاريخي قصو سنڌي شاعريءَ ۽ ادب جو موضوع رهيو آهي. ڪيترن ئي شاعرن قصي کي شاندار نموني ڳايو آهي.هن قصي ۾قوم پرستيءَ واري رجحان کي بيان ڪيو ويندو آهي ۽ دودي سومري کي سنڌي سورمي طور بيان ڪيو ويندو آهي.
