پئن
مقامي ھنڌ تي پيدا ٿيندڙ اھنج، تڪليف يا پيڙا جو احساس، چمڙيءَ ۾ موجود حسي تنتي ڇيڙن جي متحرڪ ٿيڻ کي نوسيسيپٽرس (nociceptors) سڏجي ٿو جيڪي سور جا پيغام دماغ کي پھچائين ٿا. انھن مان ڪي نوسيسيپٽرس رڳو گنڀير محرڪن جي موٽ ڏين ٿا ته ٻيا محرڪن بابت چتائيندڙ ٿين ٿا. پئن رسپٽر ٻين بناوتن ۾ به موجود ٿين ٿا جھڙوڪ: رت نلين ۽ ٻنڌين (tendons) ۾. جيڪو سور اصل ھنڌ کان ڪجهه مفاصلي تي محسوس ڪري سگهجي ان کي ريفرڊ پئن (referred pain) سڏجي ٿو. سور جي علاج لاءِ دوائن ۾ اليڪٽريڪل اسٽيميوليشن (TENS) سرجري يا اڪوپنڪچر (acupuncture) جھڙا علاج شامل ٿين ٿا (وڌيڪ ڏسو، pain relief, endorphins).
